Avi & Sega hold the frame of the journey together: practical orientation, cultural context and the group’s inner space.

Avi

Psychologist, Yoga Teacher, Ayurvedic Consultant.

Avi (Mangaldharma) is a psychologist, yoga teacher and Ayurvedic consultant whose approach brings together Western depth psychology and the living wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda. For him, well-being arises when body, mind and spirit are seen together.

Born in India, Avi was immersed from childhood in yoga, mantra chanting, meditation and Ayurvedic living. Across more than 30 years as a seeker and practitioner, he has learned in contexts such as the Ramakrishna Order and the Bihar School of Yoga, experiences that shaped his understanding of healing, transformation and the psyche.

As a psychologist, Avi is deeply inspired by Carl Jung. The unconscious, archetypes and individuation resonate strongly with the yogic vision of self-realization, giving his work a depth-oriented, somatic and integrative lens.

In practice, Avi helps people develop a more stable and resilient inner structure, able to support intense emotions, integrate experiences and make room for meaning. The work with him may include therapeutic conversation, somatic awareness, breathing, relaxation or guided meditation.

In Ashram Yatra, Avi brings a living presence, rooted in practice, psychology and simplicity. His role is to support orientation, practice and the meeting with each place, not as a tourist guide, but as an attentive companion to an inner process.

Sega

Writer, translator, traveller.

Sega (Charaiveti) discovered India and Nepal in 2008, during his sabbatical year. After returning home from that long initiatory journey, he wrote and published the Namaste novels, which became Humanitas bestsellers in 2012 and 2013.

After the Namaste novels were published, he began leading organized groups in India and Nepal, through emblematic journeys such as Adventures in Nepal and Buddha Yatra, following in the footsteps of the Buddha.

During the pandemic years without travel, Sega translated Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche’s In Love with the World for Romanian readers, published by Humanitas in 2022 as Îndrăgostit de lume.

Sega is also the Romanian translator of Old Path White Clouds by Thich Nhat Hanh, published by Humanitas in December 2025 as Calea cea veche, norii cei albi — Povestea vieții lui Buddha.

In Ashram Yatra, his role is to offer cultural context, story, group holding and integration. A literary and human presence, attentive to the Romanian way of meeting India without haste and without cheap mythology.

He met Avi in 2010, at the Namaste India festival in Bucharest. From that meeting grew a long friendship, nourished by India, practice, conversations and roads that kept crossing over time.
